MVP's of their teams: Empire.Kas and Empire.Happy talked to the press on the eve of match.
In this interview you can read answers to such questions as: is it hard to play against a teammate for Team Empire players, guys attitude to matches of this type and so forth. Don't miss it!
Firstly guys, how does it feel to be on opposite teams? You normally cheer for each other on Team Empire, do you think it is going to be strange competing against each other?
Happy: I don’t think so. We play against each other on online tournaments and lan-events.
Kas: Well, it’s always hard to play versus your teammate and practice partner, but when you are playing at high level, it’s normal to meet each other time to time.
Looking at the line-up of players competing on each side, who do you feel is the strongest player on each team and for what reason?
Happy: Kas is the strongest player on Ukraine side at the moment, and Ukraine is stronger country in gaming intellect right now.
Kas: All players are really strong and everyone can show high level of skill, so I won’t underrate any player.
Have you been able to speak to your teammates in advance and do you have strategies for each player going into the show match on Tuesday?
Happy: I think all players are well aware of each other’s playing style, but it’s a show match and we will do the show!
Kas: In team Ukraine we all are good friends, sometimes we even communicate without sc2 reason, so we have good team spirit, our strategy - to show best game from every player, let the best team win.
Russia and Ukraine seem to have great talent when it comes to RTS games, where do you think this love for RTS games comes from?
Happy: It’s a difficult question. Maybe that’s because we like RTS more than other genres.
Kas: It’s all about the beginnings, we all came from Warcraft 3 and SC:BroodWar , and when your country has players like HOT and WHITE-RA, this really motivates you to improve your skill. And you can be sure: being best is in our blood.
Do you feel extra pressure to compete as best you can as you are representing not only your own name, your own team but also your countries honour?
Happy: During my career I played at many different events, including international games, I don’t think that this match will be something special for me.
Kas: For me it has always been something special. Few years ago ESL was making European Country Championship in wc3, I still remember these great feeling, teamspirit and really something more than just playing for yourself or your team.
Is there anything you would like to say to your opponents before the beginning of the competition?
Happy: Have fun!
Kas: I wish you to show your best and to have fun.
Finally is there anything you would like to say to your fans or anyone watching on Tuesday?
Happy: Cheer for the players you like, enjoy the game!
Kas: We promise to do our best, hope for your support us and thanks you are with us!
